History of Robin
It is somewhat of a relief for me, (after all this writing), that Robin does not have a history…well not yet anyway. In fact all we know about Robin’s past is that twenty years before Luffy set sail, at the tender age of eight, Robin sunk 6 Marine battleships by herself. That earned her a 79,000,000 Belli bounty, but she disappeared for 20 years and only re-emerged when she aligned herself with a certain organization in order to discover the hidden Poneglyph of Alubarna.
Other than that, Robin’s history remains a mystery…
Notes on Robin:
Robin is the oldest and wisest member of the crew. Oda hinted that someone as intelligent as her might be joining the crew in an SBS long before her appearance.
Robin's birthday is February 6th. Another play on numbers with her name "Ni" and "Ro" for 2 & 6.
Call her a realist or a pessimist, either way you’d probably be right. Robin always has macabre, scary or sickening comments to make about whatever situation might be at hand. The truth is, she’s just being realistic but these comments horrify Nami and are never a source of inspiration for her. (Poor Nami)
Judging from what little she says while on her own, it is obvious that Robin wishes to know much about the history of the world she lives in, but the reason for this desire is completely unknown. It is very possible that she knows something about the world that very few others do.
Given her huge bounty when she was only 8-years-old, which was even higher than Zoro's present bounty, Robin is probablly the second most powerful/dangerous member of Luffy's crew.
Oda estimates that it is possible for her to sprout hands at a radius of 200 "Hana Hana's", but it is anyone's guess as to what that means exactly as he is famous for giving mock values.
All of Robin's sprouting patterns and some of her special techniques are named in Spanish.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Having the power of the Hana Hana Fruit, Robin is almost god-like in a fight against any normal-sized adversary. However, against very large foes Robin has as much trouble as anyone since she cannot get a grasp on them.
Robin’s "weakness" is somewhat like Sanji’s addiction to Nami. She will not let any harm come to artifacts. This doesn’t sound like a weakness really, but during her fight with Yama, she was severely injured when she attempted to protect the ancient stone buildings and figures around her.
Robin Spoilers
Guess what? You've already ruined the surprise about Robin for yourself if you didn't know and quite frankly, it's a pain in the arse making those additional spoiler pages. So if for some odd reason you DON'T want to know these, then just don't highlight the text. Muchos gracias
Robin Nico re-emerged from her 20 years of mysterious absence from the world as Miss. All Sunday, the Vice President of Baroque Works and the right-hand woman of Mr. 0. She was hired not for her strengths, that was merely an added bonus, but for her ability to decipher the artifacts known as poneglyphs.
For reasons yet unknown, Robin is searching the world over for Poneglyphs, ancient inscriptions that are written in a lost language. Other than Robin, the only other character known to be able to read Poneglyphs was the Pirate King, Gold Roger.

Kuracchi (12 hands) | Clutch | Yama | Vol.29 pg24. | Pattern: ? Using twelve arms, Robin disables her opponent by putting them in a deadly hold. I have listed this seperate from the above Clutch because Robin used 12 hands on Yama, but did not call out a specific blooming pattern. |
Sutoranguru | Strangle | 30 Marines | Vol.22 pg120. | Pattern: Treinta Flor. Robin sprouts a arm from someone’s neck and strangles them. She holds a huge group of Marines at bay with this technique. |
Tsuisuto | Twist | Holy Guard | Vol.28 pg55. | Pattern: Seis Flor. Using six arms, Robin twists an enemy’s body in different directions. |

The Delphinium is a type of flower which can have blooming patterns in an alternating chain, hence Robin's chain of arms. |
Furippu | Flip | Capote | Vol.33 pg37. | Pattern: Ocho Flor. Robin restrains her opponent with 6 hands then uses 2 more to flip them over backwards. |
Officially Listed Battles Fought
- No Officially Listed Battles
Yet to be Listed Conflicts
The last published One Piece guide (Grand Data File Blue) covered events through volume 24. The following are my opinion of battles that occurred post Volume 24. As soon as a list is published, I will alter this data to reflect what is officially acceptable.
- Robin & Crew VS Shoujou [Chapter 226]
- Robin VS Holy Guard [Chapter 258]
- Robin VS Yama [Chapter 262-265]
Unlisted Conflicts
The requisites for some battles are questionable. It appears that if only one punch (or kick or whatever) is thrown, then it does not count as a battle (except in the very first bout listed). There are also different types of conflicts, (meaning other than throwing punches or kicks), which are not listed. These are my opinion and were not officially listed.
- Robin VS Pell [Chapter 170]
- Robin VS 30+ Marines [Chapter 201]
- Robin VS Sir Crocodile [Chapter 203-204]
